Description
The successful completion of the sequencing of the human genome, and those of other important model organisms, was a major milestone in the history of biological research. However, scientists are now aware that knowing the sequence of nucleotides (A, T, C, and G) that comprise the genetic code is only a small piece of a much more complex picture of how DNA encodes biological function. Thus, the field of genomics science continues to be in an exciting discovery phase.
