Description
Dr. Steven Segal is the Milton Florence Krenz Mack Distinguished Professor of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been at the forefront of efforts to study the effectiveness of outpatient commitment to facilitate early release from institutional care and the prevention of future hospitalization or incarceration due to mental illness. He is well published in the mental health field on community-based care, the self-help movement, and outpatient civil commitments.
