Description
Debates about the use of non-human animals for medical research tend to be cast in terms of a trade-off between the suffering and destruction of the animals used and the promotion of human health and well-being. In this talk, Dr. Lori Gruen, author of Ethics and Animals: An Introduction (Cambridge University Press) will suggest that this way of framing the debate is problematic and will argue that a deeper recognition of the moral costs of both sides may help move the discussion forward.
