Genetic Engineering has provided the world with means to obtain necessary nutrients in foods that may not provide the necessary amount needed. Citrus greening disease of food is plaguing orchards around the world and greatly affecting the world consumption of necessary Vitamin C. Vitamin A deficiency causes 500,000 cases worldwide of blindness. The genetic development of "Golden Rice" and disease resistance has drastically cut the cases caused by Vitamin A deficiency and citrus greening disease.
