Silenced Stories: An Exhibit of Marginalized Voices On Campus

Presented by students in the Social Work Field Unit of Development and Other Disabilities and Advocacy in Multicultural Settings

Event Details

Date
Thursday, May 9, 2013
Time
5:30 p.m.
Description
We recognize that while this campus is touted as a liberal, safe and accepting community there are many individuals whose experiences and stories are not being heard. Students submitted stories and artwork related to a time they felt targeted because of their identity (race, sex, gender, sexuality, class, ability, ethnicity, religion). The purpose of this project is to raise awareness of identity based discrimination on and around campus as a way to create change through visibility.
