Description
Wisconsin provides a vivid picture of domestic upheaval during World War One. Senator Robert La Follette risked imprisonment for opposing the war. Rep. Victor Berger ws convicted and unseated for his opposition. In Milwaukee, the nation's most concentrated center of new immigrants, anarchists were blamed for a bombing that drew Emma Goldman and Clarence Darrow into the fray. This course draws fascinating lessons from wartime in WI. Instructor: Dean Strang. Tuesdays through Oct. 29
