MIT Prof. Kerry Emanuel will discuss theory and computer models which suggest hurricane activity is sensitive to climate, as well as the ambiguity in observational records. The talk will describe what is known, where there is still disagreement and present new ideas about hurricane-climate interactions, including possible feedbacks of hurricanes on the climate system itself.
