Michael G. Moore, Distinguished Professor of Education, Emeritus, The Pennsylvania State University. Moore will describe some highlights in the evolution of the practice and the study of distance education and independent learning. In reflecting on “The Wisconsin Idea,” he will explain how past experiments in independent study at the University of Wisconsin are still driving innovations in university teaching, and how universities are organized in the Information Age.
