Description

In this talk, I am going to cover our Swift and Sundial papers at SIGCOMM 2020 and OSDI 2020 respectively. Through Swift, I would like to discuss how a simple congestion control grounded in precise delay-measurement and its decomposition can be extremely effective at datacenter scale. An unanswered question is how do we measure forward and reverse path delays separately, and to that end I will describe Sundial, a fault-tolerant hardware-software codesign for datacenter clock-synchronization that achieves 100ns time-uncertainty.
