Description
Building community in your course carries benefits that far exceed time and energy that it involves. Learning in any format is more engaging when steps are taken to make the experience more collaborative and social, rather than competitive or isolated. In this session, instructors will develop strategies for establishing and sustaining a community.
In this session, you will:
- Select strategies for ongoing collaborative learning and student interaction.
- Identify introductory activities to establish a course community.
- Develop a plan for “closing” a classroom community at the end of the term.
- Reflect on and apply lessons learned from remote instruction.
Review resources prior to the session.
