This talk addresses the theoretical complexities of determining what constitutes ‘linguistic justice’ and ‘language access’ in the criminal justice system, and discusses the realities of language-policy making and implementation in two areas: court interpreting and police interrogation and delivery of the Miranda rights to L2 speakers of English.
