Description
The art of Quilt Making has a rich history inspired by African textiles. In the US quilts was an art medium enslaved women used as a tool for storytelling, capturing heritage/history, and in some cases as a communication tool such as with the Underground Railroad. Join us as we make our own collective quilt and put a spotlight on quilt making trailblazers: Harriet Powers, Rosie Lee Tompkins, and Bisa Butler.
