Description
Dr. Nelson will discuss challenges that can arise when using secondary data sources to conduct safety studies and statistical approaches designed to better detect rare adverse events in these
settings. These include adapting sequential methods from clinical trials to the observational data base setting and using NLP of clinical notes combined with machine learning to improve the accuracy with which vaccine safety outcomes are identified.
