Abstract: In this talk, I will illustrate the advantages and challenges of deep learning models in phylogenetics. Phylogenetic trees and networks differ from other graphical structures in which data are only available on the external nodes of the graph, and thus, many models that originated in other graph domains are not readily applicable.
