Feel the Beat: Felted Textiles

Felt is often created through a through communal, rhythmic percussive process of beating that causes fibers to mat together and form a solid piece of cloth. This exhibition explores the history of felt and its multiple uses as a symbol of cultural identity, creative expression, and sustainable eco-friendly material used in buildings and industry. The exhibition features pieces from the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection and Nepalese and Ecuadorian artists and makers.
