Description
Samantha Lewis, graduate student in the Department of Comparative Biosciences, Veterinary Medicine, will discuss how hormones are not just important in reproduction. Many organs in our bodies rely on hormones produced from endocrine glands to function properly. This lecture will describe how cancers, particularly prostate cancer, hijack the bodies sex hormones and use them to survive and invade. In addition, it will explain how physicians design treatments to fight such cancers.
