Description
The Hawaiian Islands are home to some of the world’s most imperiled forest birds. Introduction of mosquitoes and vector-borne avian malaria are important factors in the historic decline and extinction of many endemic Hawaiian honeycreepers. We evaluated the long-term population impacts of climate on birds and disease and the viability of alternative conservation strategies to maintain these unique species.
