Associate Professor Regina Smyth of Indiana University will discuss Russian political protests starting with the 2011-2012 For Fair Elections protests to gain insight into the nature of contemporary autocracy and the ways in which autocrats can extend the life of the regime, as well as how these movements illustrate the longer term implications of these actions.
