A presentation about the notorious, German antisemitic politician, Hermann Ahlwardt, who visited the U.S. in 1895 - 1897 to kindle antisemitism, including in Milwaukee and the New York metropolitan area.
Matthew Lange is Associate Professor of German at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He received his PhD in German from the UW-Madison in 2006. His research has focused on antisemitism in Germany since the middle of the 19th century, particularly in relation to anti-capitalist sentiment.
