Description
Drs. O’Connor and Dudley have spent their careers studying HIV/AIDS. Their work understanding how HIV/AIDS causes disease has been applied to studying Zika virus, which is continuing to spread throughout the Americas. Studying Zika virus motivated them to reconsider the best ways to communicate new scientific information during a public health emergency. By making their data available in real-time over the internet, they circumvented the typical slow release of results in peer-reviewed journals. Today they will be talking about the lessons learned from a year of real-time data sharing, will discuss the future of data sharing, and answer all of your questions.
