Description
Lake Victoria, the largest tropical lake by surface area in Africa, has been dramatically altered by population growth, climate variability, resource extraction and other stressors. Ecological, health, and economic effects disproportionately place the burden of low water quality on women. Jessica Corman, a postdoctoral research associate in the Center for Limnology, will discuss these ecological realities and empowerment of communities through women-led initiatives to protect community health.
