Description
Drawing on yet another abandoned area of mid-20th century sociology, this talk makes the theoretical case for reclaiming inquiry into the "Power Elite" in Communication and suggests how we might begin doing so through a mixed-method approach combining qualitative methods, inductive approaches to computational data, along with what I call "unexpected data" (as diverse as invitations to social events, "secret listservs," and news buildings).
