Description
Winter Carnival Just Because It's Winter Doesn't Mean We Can't Play Outside! Making winter feel like summer with a concert on the Terrace! Electric bassist Josh Cohen's roving performances will accompany the outdoor activities for Winter Carnival.  Josh Cohen is a 6-string electric bassist, composer, session musician, songwriter and music educator based in Madison, Wisconsin who travels frequently throughout the United States to perform and teach clinics/workshops.  Josh has garnered a lot of attention for his solo electric bass compositions and arrangements. His arrangement of Herbie Hancock’s Chameleon was ranked as the number 1 bass video of 2015 by No Treble magazine.  His 2014 solo electric bass album Out of the Bassment features 100% solo bass arrangements and compositions without any loops, multitracking or time-based effects. Josh holds a bachelor of music from Humber College and a masters in music composition from York University.

"Every instrument has the ability to sing and connect emotionally with an audience, not just a vocalist, but every instrument whether it be a violin, a tuba or a drum set. It is my intention to allow the electric bass to sing.” – Josh Cohen
