Winter Carnival Just Because It's Winter Doesn't Mean We Can't Play Outside! Show your outdoorsy side by sporting a flannel shirt! $1 basket of cheese curds at Der Rath for anyone who wears flannel. This tradition goes back to the 1940s when the Wisconsin Hoofers took over general management of the annual Winter Carnival. Plaid flannel shirts and ski sweaters were considered mandatory attire during the week-long flurry of activities! See all Winter Carnival events and join us for a whole weekend of winter fun!
