Summary: Breast cancer screening guidelines continue to spark controversy in part due to lingering uncertainty about the effectiveness of mammography at reducing breast cancer mortality. The CISNET consortium is an NCI-funded collaboration of independent groups formed to use modeling methods to provide insight into cancer screening and treatment interventions in the US.
