In this talk, Ema Ushioda, Professor and Head of the Department of Applied Linguistics, University of Warwick, UK, will highlight some ethical and relational complexities that language researchers and practitioners may face in their research and writing up practices when they investigate language learning motivation. Her ideas are drawn from a book she has recently published on Language Learning Motivation: An Ethical Agenda for Research (Oxford University Press, 2020).
