Description
Prof. Sybil Derrible (Univ of Illinois at Chicago). Infrastructure is the greatest physical manifestation of civilization. Almost everything we do relies on the seamless operation of infrastructure. And yet, the way infrastructure operates is neither sustainable nor resilient. In this walk, we will take a tour of seven infrastructure systems—water, wastewater, electricity, gas, solid waste, and telecommunications—to discuss how they currently function and how they may evolve in the future.
