Emerging Towards a More Diverse Community of Freshwater Scientists

In this talk Dr. Checo Colón-Gaud, a professor and Associate Dean at Georgia Southern University, will be sharing how he has intertwined DEI initiatives and academia. Dr. Colón-Gaud has strived to make his lab group, research, and community to be welcoming and supportive of students with diverse backgrounds. Dr. Colón-Gaud is also in charge of diversity mentoring programs for the Society for Freshwater Science. Dr. Colón-Gaud was invited by the DEI committee of the Center for Limnology.
