PrEP Misinformation Series Session 1: Invigorating your team to promote and prescribe PrEP

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force gave PrEP an “A” grade, meaning clinicians are recommended to offer it to anyone at high risk for HIV acquisition. The FDA first approved PrEP ten years ago. Yet in 2021, only 16% of people eligible for PrEP were prescribed it. Plus, Wisconsin lags behind national averages. What is preventing providers from prescribing PrEP? How do we end the HIV epidemic if such an effective, highly recommended strategy is not getting to people who could benefit from it?
