The Crucial Role of Project Charters
Presented by Jim Martin, senior project manager, Office of Strategic Consulting

Content level: introductory

The project charter is a project management tool that can be easy to dismiss “in the interest of time” and getting a project underway. However, neglecting this foundational step can have significant consequences to a project’s success. In this session, you’ll learn what those consequences are and why developing a project charter is so essential at a project’s inception. You’ll gain an understanding of the different components of a charter and the purpose each serves. You’ll leave with tips on how to work with project sponsors and team members to develop a project charter and set your project off on the path to success.
