Description
Allan H. “Bud” Selig (’56 BS L&S), the ninth commissioner of Major League Baseball, earned his UW-Madison degrees in history and political science. Selig is the former owner of the Milwaukee Brewers professional baseball team and is credited with bringing baseball back to Milwaukee in 1970. He became acting baseball commissioner in 1992 and officially assumed the post in 1998.
