Using the crime novel, we explore the Jazz Age. We begin in France with Barbara Cleverly's "Tug of War," meet an Australian flapper in Kerry Greenwood's "Cocaine Blues," move on to the bootleggers in Prohibition US with Craig Holden's "The Jazz Bird," and end in Weimar, Germany with Jonathan Rabb's "Shadow and Light." Recommended background: "Only Yesterday" by Frederick Lewis Allen. Meets Tuesdays through April 3.
