Description
Dr. Wieman began directing the OSTP’s Office of Science in 2010. Before that he served as director of Collaborative Science Education at the U. of British Columbia and U. of Colorado (aiming to achieve widespread improvement in undergraduate science education), and as professor of Physics. His research in physics has been recognized with numerous awards, including sharing the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2001 for the creation of a new form of matter known as “Bose-Einstein condensation.”
