"The Cranes are Flying" is a timeless work of Soviet black & white cinematography and the only Russian film to have achieved the Palme d'Or award from the Cannes Film Festival. The story of Veronika and Boris develops against the background of the bloodiest war in Russian history. Today we recognize the 67th anniversary of the end of the war known in Russia as Great Patriotic War (1941-45) by watching this very moving film. Shown in Russian with English subtitles.
