This policy briefing will examine the data on alcohol-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities and consider the evidence for state laws, local ordinances and other policies and practices to reduce alcohol-related vehicular crashes and deaths. Included will be the policy implications of opposing views and an examination of drunk driving within the context of beliefs about alcoholism, individualism, and civil liberties.
