When disaster strikes a U.S.-recognized Indian tribe, a unique set of response question arises. In this talk, MPA/Law student Nate Inglis Steinfeld examines how the law in action frames tribal communication after disasters and offers a change to the Stafford Act definitions to improve information channels and promote respect for tribal sovereignty.
