Mayan Cosmovision: Politics and Spirituality in 2012

Guatemala continues to experience the expansion of neoliberal policies that challenge the autonomy and self-determination of indigenous peoples. Carlos Escalante, a Mayan spiritual guide and intercultural coordinator of Sustainable Development for Guatemala (DESGUA) will present on current social and political issues facing Guatemala, Mayan cultural policy, and current perceptions of Mayan predictions regarding 2012.
