Ulrike Strasser (History, UC-Irvine) explores how Germany’s premier 18th century missionary journal, the Neue Welt-Bott (or New World Messenger) constructed contemporary scientific knowledge and a view of the European colonial order for a broader public, with particular attention to this early modern journal’s complex multimedia arrangement.
