Presented by Jackson Foote, Ph.D. candidate, School of Journalism & Mass Communication, UW-Madison. Foote is a doctoral student focused on the relationship between social movements, media ecologies and political culture. He has studied activism and new media through case studies of Wisconsin labor protests and the Chilean student movement. His research on the use of online social networks to construct counter-discourse in Chile has been sponsored by UW-Madison's LACIS Program.
