Mickalene Thomas In Conversation

The African American New York-based artist Mickalene Thomas is best known for her elaborate paintings composed of rhinestones, acrylic and enamel. Her most recent exhibitions took place at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. "Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe: Les Trois Femmes Noires," was commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art in NYC for The Modern restaurant window on 53rd Street.
