Description
Darien Lamen, ACLS new faculty fellow in ethnomusicology, UW–Madison. Lamen earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 and taught at the University of Texas-Austin before coming to Wisconsin. His primary ethnographic research explores the history of musical mobilities connecting the Brazilian port city of Belém do Pará with the circum-Caribbean. His primary research interests include cosmopolitanism, mobility, media technology and the politics of cultural labor.
