Description
Fred Hebard of the American Chestnut Foundation will present on efforts to restore the American Chestnut which has been devastated by chestnut blight. Efforts are being made to backcross blight-resistant Chinese chestnut into American chestnut to eliminate genes for susceptibility to blight. The goal is eventually to restore the species to the eastern forests of North America.
