Description
R. Tripp Evans, prize-winning biographer of Grant Wood and Mary L. Heuser Chair in the Arts at Wheaton College, Mass., will tell the story of the intriguing painting 'Sultry Night' in the context of the artist's life and 1930s America. The painting and lithograph of Sultry Night will be on view Tuesday in the museum's Objects Study Room, and Tripp Evans will be there before the lecture, beginning at 4 p.m.
