Volunteers with the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection have unburied countless treasures when unpacking boxes to move into the collection’s new facilities. See their favorites on display in the Mecklenburg Reading Room in the recently renovated Nancy Nicholas Hall. Selections span the globe and time: pre-Columbian archeological woven tapestries, Chinese silk slippers and contemporary fiber art.
