Description
Program to feature UW professor John Stevens' "Journey," a tuba concerto originally commissioned and premiered in 2000 by Gene Pokorny and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Gene Pokorny has been a tuba player in the Chicago Symphony since 1989 and previously was a member of the Israel Philharmonic, Utah Symphony, St. Louis Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has also played many film scores in Hollywood, such as Jurassic Park and The Fugitive.
