La Cineteca presents: Benvenuto, Presidente! (2013)

In this recent political satire, the Italian Parliament is once again at a standstill. The main party leaders organize a protest vote for the election of Prime Minister by nominating the historical war hero, Giuseppe Garibaldi. To their delight, their candidate wins. To their dismay, Italian law allows for any living Giuseppe Garibaldi to accept the post, even a lowly fisherman with a knack for gaffes.
