Learn the science of substance abuse and addiction, why it is understood as a brain disorder, and how this understanding influences relapse-prevention planning. Understand basic pharmacology of addictive drugs on the brain and body and its connection to self-destructive behavior. Practice techniques of how to talk to clients from a brain-disorder perspective.
