The Wisconsin Historical Society will host a screening of the civil rights documentary, "Freedom Riders," in the auditorium of the Society's headquarters at 816 State St. in Madison. The film documents the experiences of volunteers who rode a bus into the Deep South in the early 1960s to press for black voter registration. Professor Edward Schmitt of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside will show selected segments of the film and moderate a post-screening discussion with audience members.
