The Comparative U.S. Studies Group sponsors this lecture about Hawai'ian hula performers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and their unexpected relationship to Hawai'i's present-day self determination movement. Adria Imada is associate professor of Ethnic Studies and Critical Gender Studies at University of California, San Diego.
