A sort-of variation on the play and film Six Degrees of Separation, Kiarostami’s meta-movie tells of an ambitious young man who poses as acclaimed Persian filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf. After the faux-director convinces a gullible family that he wants to make a movie of their lives, the truth is revealed and the impostor is put on trial.
